Common questions

How long does a Flashback run on a charge?

9 to 12 hours on a fully charged PowerAnchor. A full charge takes about 6 hours.

How much does a Flashback weigh?

Each Flashback ships at about 5 pounds with its PowerAnchor, and the Duck Club Double ships at about 10 pounds. The PowerAnchor itself weighs 14 ounces and is a little larger than a deck of cards. It powers the decoy and doubles as its decoy weight.

How loud are the decoys?

They're very quiet. Hear them for yourself in the video, recorded with natural sound and no music.

How shallow or deep can the water be?

The Flashback has two motions. Its full dabbling motion, head under and tail up, needs about eight inches of water. Its surface feeding motion runs in as little as four inches.

The PowerAnchor cord is three feet, nine inches long, so out of the box it runs in water deeper than three and a half feet. Extensions (three feet, five inches each) are available, and you can use as many as you need.

Will it work in weeds or thick vegetation?

Yes. If vegetation stops the head from fully rotating, the Flashback keeps running in its surface feeding motion. It won't strip the motor gears or the shaft. You can also choose that motion yourself by hooking the PowerAnchor cord under the decoy, which is the way to run it in weeds or water under about nine inches deep.

Does it run in cold weather and ice?

Yes. Below about minus 10 degrees, ice can build up on the decoy or the fabric wings and push it into its surface feeding motion. Clear the ice by dunking the decoy or breaking it off, and the dabbling motion returns.

How durable is it, and what if something breaks?

You can treat and transport a Flashback like any other decoy. If there's a mishap in the marsh, the parts are replaceable by removing one locknut, and every part you need is sold on our website. Most repairs take five minutes or less.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every Flashback is covered for one year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. See our warranty page for the full terms.
